Qualcomm and Xiaotiancai Usher in New Era of 4G Kid Watches with Snapdragon Wear

At Mobile World Congress Shanghai, Qualcomm  and Xiaotiancai today announced that Xiaotiancai is transitioning its product line to 4G and launching its latest Xiaotiancai Z3 kid smartwatch based on the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ Wear 2100 platform.

“Since the introduction of our first Y01 watch in 2015, Xiaotiancai has led the growth of the kid watch segment in China and has become a leading provider globally,” said Zhi-jiang Jin, CEO,Xiaotiancai. “Our understanding of the evolving needs in a Chinese family, in combination with Qualcomm Technologies’ cutting-edge Snapdragon Wear 2100 platform, is making it possible to integrate 4G connectivity, deliver reliable safety features, and bring the richness of the Android platform thus enabling a whole new experience for kids and parents alike.”

The Xiaotiancai Z3 is one of the first kids watch in the industry powered by the Snapdragon Wear 2100 platform, which has been specially designed to meet the needs of the emerging 4G kid watch segment. It is engineered to support 4G multi-mode with bi-directional calling and delivers reliable indoor and outdoor positioning through a combination of Wi-Fi®, GPS and 4G location triangulation techniques. The Z3 is based on Android, which has been optimized to minimize power and deliver ever-growing experiences across safety, social, education, and messaging for kids. The Z3 is designed to seamlessly communicates with parents’ phones and makes it possible for them to constantly stay in touch with their loved ones.

A key value proposition of Xiaotiancai Z3 is its swimming-level water proof design, which makes Z3 the first kid’s connected watch with this feature. Additionally, with the support of quick charging, the Z3 is expected to provide superior thermal performance and battery life.

The Xiaotiancai Z3 is expected to be available on July 2017 in China.
