King Arthur Legend of the Sword Blu-Ray Review: Fun & Entertaining
Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne. When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.
This retelling of the King Arthur legend doesn’t follow the original story at all, and that’s one of the reasons I enjoyed it so much! It’s grittier, meant to show the life of a man who had a big destiny thrust upon him. And he struggled with that destiny; he didn’t want to be king, he just wanted to live his life.Rotten tomatoes was very wrong about this movie. The story and action sequences were amazing. As a general audience we need to stop letting critics tell us how to think about films, music, and etc. Watch or listen to something and make your own judgements.
Especially if you like action movies! It may be a let down if you can’t let go of the original story line of King Arthur and if you don’t like epic action and quick & witty type lines… But I think the majority of movie lovers will think this movie was excellent even better than most movies out today. Even though it didn’t have Brad Pitt and the new leading lady with the playful allure of them flirting with each other. But i guess sexiness and sex sells, but honestly this movie was an excellent movie without that, which kinda made this movie stick out as not being needy in that way at all for big screen enjoyment… Excellent Movie!
