Helix Sleep Mattress: Custom fit to your front step

Helix sleep-3[ad#co-1]

Helix Sleep is the first Direct to consumer mattress brand that uses cutting edge data and analytics to create individually personalized, high quality mattresses for individuals and couples at less than ⅓ of the average retail price. Each mattress is designed to optimize spinal alignment, which is associated with improved REM sleep efficiency, higher reported sleep quality, and reduced neck & back pain. The company uses premium materials for comfort and durability, and ships nationwide to deliver an unprecedented level of comfort directly to your doorstep. For couples, Helix Sleep offers “split” beds, personalizing one side of the mattress to one partner and the other side to the other partner. For those that can’t choose a side, the company can also find the happy medium through its “blended” mattress option. The Company firmly believes that individuals have different needs and preferences and therefore a“onefeelfitsall approach” isn’t best for consumers. Helix Sleep was built to empower individuals to be the best version of themselves, and being the best you starts with how you sleep. Helix Sleep is headquartered in New York City. More information is available at www.helixsleep.com.

HOW IT WORKS

● Consumers take Helix Sleep’s seamless online personalization quiz to answer a few simple

questions about body structure, sleeping routines, and mattress preferences.

● Using scientific research in sleep ergonomics and 3D human body modeling in its proprietary

personalization process, Helix Sleep custom optimizes its mattress constructions across four key

performance metrics: feel, support, temperature regulation, and point elasticity.

● Custombuilt and delivered to your doorstep in a week, the mattresses ships free and comes with a

100 day return policy.

THE CUSTOMIZATION PROCESS

Helix Sleep asks simple questions about body type (height, weight), sleeping preferences (back/side/stomach, hot vs. cold), and mattress preferences (firm vs. soft) in order to build each consumer’s perfect mattress. Helix Sleep’s technology then uses this data to algorithmically map to a generic 3D human body model and then evaluates the ergonomics of a body on different materials to individually personalize

the mattress design for each person according to who they are, what they like, and how they sleep. Helix Sleep’s goal is to create the best customer experience and provide unparalleled value (lower price points/higher quality/more variation), while making the process both educational and simple for the customer.

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Inspired by terrible experiences purchasing mattresses (and the ensuing sleepless nights), Helix Sleep was created by a group of people meticulously working toward realizing their passion to deliver unprecedented value in the mattress category. Combining their professional strengths, Adam, Kristian, and Jerry worked with a sleep ergonomics PhD located in Europe, who had researched mattress

personalization for four years, developing the basis for the company’s constantly improving algorithm.

Adam Tishman

Adam graduated from Princeton University with a major in Medieval & Renaissance European History, so he naturally took a job after college in investment banking. Quickly realizing he’d rather help create and build companies that bring value to consumers, he joined a brand incubator that specialized in B2C startup brand building and shortly thereafter helped launch the CPG company, Sheets Brand, with brand endorsers and investors that included LeBron James, Serena Williams, and Pitbull. Because the mattress industry is routinely rated as one of the worst consumer categories, Adam hopes to breathe new life into this archaic industry by improving the shopping experience and empowering consumers. He earned his MBA from Wharton with a triple major in entrepreneurial management, marketing, and operations. He’s 6’2”, sleeps on his back, and prefers a medium firm mattress.

Kristian von Rickenbach

Kristian’s passion for sleep began at a young age, when he fell asleep playing hide & go seek and his parents almost called the police before he was discovered in washing machine. He went on to graduate from Duke University and began his career at L.E.K. Consulting. Later, he worked on Google’s corporate strategy team launching Google Wallet and Google Offers. Throughout his experience analyzing customer data and exploring new growth opportunities, he realized data and analytics could be used to improve a very broken mattress industry. Kristian earned his MBA from the Wharton School with a major in Marketing and Operations. He’s 5’11”, sleeps on his side, and prefers an extra firm mattress.

Jerry Lin

Jerry graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a major in Economics and Finance (and a mean SoCal tan). After working a few years in finance at Goldman Sachs and Aurora Capital Group, Jerry sought more operational experience and found an opportunity with his family’s paper packaging business where Jerry focused on developing new products, implementing new manufacturing technologies, and expanding the company’s customer base. Given his experience, Jerry saw a huge opportunity in streamlining the supply side of the mattress manufacturing process in order to provide highquality, customized products. Jerry earned his MBA from the Wharton School with a major in Entrepreneurial Management. He’s 5’8”, sleeps on his side, and prefers a mediumsoft mattress.
