Recently, we announced NumberSync, the service that lets you leave your phone, but bring your number.  We are excited that you can get this service, available only from AT&T, starting today on the Samsung Gear S2, making it the first connected smartwatch to support both voice and messaging with NumberSync.

Existing customers can get NumberSync on Gear S2 through a software update. New customers can enjoy NumberSync upon initial setup.

NumberSync lets you send and receive texts1, as well as make and receive calls, from your smartwatch2 using the same mobile number that your family, friends and colleagues already recognize.

NumberSync operates on the AT&T wireless network and is not dependent on a Bluetooth connection to your smartphone. You can even use it when your smartphone is off or disconnected from the network.

NumberSync is a great example of AT&T’s culture of innovation in action. The idea came through AT&T’s employee crowdsourcing platform, The Innovation Pipeline (TIP), and the early prototype was developed at our AT&T Foundry, a fast-paced and collaborative innovation center.

Just in time for the Holidays, AT&T is offering the Samsung Gear S2 for $99.99 with a two-year agreement allowing customers to experience the power of NumberSync at a price that won’t break the bank. A Mobile Share Value plan (minimum $30 for a new plan or $10 to add to an existing plan) is required.3

NumberSync on the Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch is just the beginning. We’ll have more to share on future devices soon, so stay tuned and check out http://www.att.com/numbersync for more information.

* This functionality is available to consumers today, with support for AT&T business customers coming next year.
