BenQ Releases All-White, Mac®-Compatible Monitors

New VW30 Series at the Forefront of Design and Performance

IRVINE, Calif. Oct. 11, 2012 BenQ America Corp. today introduced its latest innovation – the VW30 Series of vertical alignment (VA) LED monitors — a combination of forward-thinking features and sleek minimalistic design. With full MacBook® compatibility, LED backlighting, and VA panel technology, the all-white VW30 Series is designed to provide premium visual experiences with a touch of sophistication. Powerful yet simple, the monitors offer an elegant alternative intended to inspire today’s creative and eco-friendly lifestyles.

In a world flooded with standard-looking screens, BenQ’s white, asymmetrical VW2230H and VW2430H make a bold statement in any environment, including classrooms, medical labs, graphic design and architectural studios, corporate settings, the home office, and more. With no printing, no coating, and no adhesives on their surface, the monitors give off a pure, uncomplicated look for those who appreciate a sense of simple living. Beyond their design, the VW30s will connect to any MacBook through an M-book mode, recreating authentic MacBook picture quality on either the 21.5-inch or 24-inch displays. Additionally, thanks to a new Reading Mode, the monitors will adjust their settings automatically to simulate the warmth of reading paper.

For space-savings, a device holder at the base of the monitor offers practicality. The accessory holds iPhones®, iPods®, and other close-at-hand devices. The monitors also morph into full entertainment hubs — an HDMI® 1.4 high-speed multimedia interface, D-sub, and DVI-D connections allow users to hook up gaming consoles, Blu-ray™ players, and additional computers. The VW30 Series offers full 1080p HD, a contrast ratio of 5000:1, and a 178-degree viewing angle, bringing any on-screen content to life.

The VW30 Series’ LED backlighting technology will cut power consumption by up to half when compared to previous generations of monitors. The Eco Mode regulates backlight brightness automatically to ensure the highest quality and energy efficiency. Power consumption is reduced by more than 37 percent when performing daily tasks — such as document viewing, Internet browsing, and emailing — and lowered by 44 percent when gaming. In addition, the all-white monitors feature a mercury-free LED display, BFR/PVC-free casing plastics, and eco-friendly ink on its packaging to keep workspaces free from harmful chemicals.

“The new BenQ VW30 Series successfully combines performance, compatibility, elegant styling, and amazing picture quality,” said Lars Yoder, President of BenQ America Corp. “With their efficient use of power and sustainable components, these monitors are a smart choice for today’s eco-friendly lifestyles.”

The VW2230H and VW2430H are now available for preorder in the United States at MSRPs of $179 and $249, respectively, and start shipping on Oct. 23, 2012.
