The Curve 9370 is the latest in the curve family Line on the Verizon Network. it sports a 2.44-inch display that isn’t touch screen, a 5- megapixel camera, and is a Global ready smartphone on the Verizon network, with a Vodaphone 3G sim-card. The Curve 9370 has a 2GB microSD that is expandable up to 32Gb . It also supports NFC and has Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi B/G/N & GPS. The Unit itself is very light and I feel is one of the lightest Blackberries to date.

BlackBerry Travel is a nice little additive on the BlackBerry Curve 9370, giving the user full access to booking tickets, setting up travel plans, checking local weather and getting great deals on trips. This is a useful feature I can see been fully beneficial to the business class user that BlackBerry attracts and has as their core customer base

BlackBerry Traffic is a free voice navigation service from BlackBerry, that gives you turn by turn directions. Though not giving you a map view, does indicate and show you traffic congestion and toll routes. It is nice that BlackBerry has packaged something extra into their smartphone as a free feature with the device.

The New curve 9370 from BlackBerry on Verizon is a super light-weight device, feels much lighter and performs faster than the previous curves. the addition of BlackBerry, travel and traffic are a welcome plus to BlackBerry 7.1 OS. Though an NFC capable device, we have yet to see any functional use of NFC technology on the new BlackBerrys let a lone the Blackberry Curve 9370. But in the end it feels like more of the same, which could be a good or bad thing.

The device is very snappy wit its dual-core processor, and comes with a custom skin UI over Android 2.3.5.

The Pantech Burst is heavily skinned across the whole UI, but not to worry Pantech has done a good job in creating a custom overlay that adds a lot to the overall Android experience. From the lock screen that provides you options in unlocking to different applications on the phone. Also the notification bar allows for quick access to easy settings on the device, which provides the user with setting controls for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Alarm, App management, tethering and sound control. A lot of the additives to the OS have been well though out and well placed. The Pantech Burst is also a 4G LTE device on the AT&T network and bow doe sit provide some eye-popping speeds in our tests, we got Maximum download speeds of 40Mbps and upload speeds of 20Mbps, which is fantastic and does help accentuate the values of this budget Android device.

The Pantech Burst is great for its price point, providing values as well as a solid user experience with the thrills of AT&T’s 4G LTE. The phone is now available for just $49.99 with a new two-year AT&T contract; plus AT&T has a sweet bundle deal that’s available for the Pantech Burst & Pantech Element tablet . Rather than paying $50 for the Burst and another $300 for the Element, if you purchase them simultaneously, you can grab the two for a deal at $249.99 on-contract — a savings of $100.

Which is truly astounding feat. Spec wise the Droid Razr Maxx is similar to is older brother the Droid Razr sport a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED qHD display that is coated with Gorilla glass. Powered by a dual-core processor and running Android 2.3.5 with 1GB of ram for some smooth operations all running by Android™ 2.3.5, Gingerbread

So we know the Droid Razr Maxx is pretty much a Droid Razr with a beefier battery. At 3330mAh Motorola Has stuffed an extended battery into a slim profile. So to see if the companies claims of 21hr talk time and 8 hrs of movie viewing was correct, we decided to carry out our own test.First we did a movie viewing test to see how long the battery will last with on a single charge watching 3 movies. Then we did a call time test. Actually we did two test, First was a call test with the LCD on and second was a Call test with the LCD off and here are the result.

Watching 3 Movies on the Droid Razr Maxx
Motorola Claim- 8 hrs
Actual- 6hrs 7mins

Call time test
Motorola claim- 21hrs
Actual with LCD off- 22hrs 10mins
Actual with LCD on- 9hrs 16mins

Conclusion

Motorola Set the bar pretty high with the original Droid Razr released last year with its ultra thin profile and sleekness, it also feature some innovative software additives like Motoro cast which allows you to stream content back and fort to your home server or PC from anywhere in the world via Verizon’ Wireless 4G LTE. The Droid Razr Maxx has all these and a little extra with its 3330mAh battery, which lives up to Motorola’s Battery claims; with 22hrs of talk time in our test and 6hrs of video watching. The Droid Razr maxx can be deemed the best and most reliable Android smartphone dare I say Smartphone on the market.
The Lumia 710 is light weight and feels comfortable. though I will say the physical button bar can be a tad hard to press at times.
In this video we shall see how well Nokia first official reentry into the US market fairs, and is it the true budget smartphone it is dubbed to be.

The Lumia 710 does a good job with its 5megapixel camera in taking stills as well as recording at 720p.

Conclusions

The Nokia Lumia 710 is a very solid entry back into the US market, at an entry price point of $49.99 and at some places free, the Nokia Lumia 710 is a very attractive offering to the first time smartphone user, plus the addition of Nokia drive goes a long way in giving smartphone user a free turn-by-turn navigation system that can be used in over 140 countries world wide. The are things I wished Nokia had done with the device, the lack of a front facing camera Is not acceptable in this day and age, though the excuse may be it’s a budget device and Skype has not been integrated into windows phone. But we know its coming and I don’t want to upgrade to use it, the use of plastic on the build is a choice I didn’t expect Nokia to take, which makes the device feel cheap in some areas. Overall the Lumia 710 is still very solid, pplus the battery life on the device puts other devices on the network to shame.

Seoul, Jan. 05, 2012 -– LG Electronics (LG) will showcase four new notebook models and an all-in-one PC at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012 in Las Vegas. LG’s brand new Super Ultrabook™ Series, the Z330 and the Z430, offer powerful performance and sleek design unseen in ordinary Ultrabooks, while the P535 and the A540 establish a new standard for 3D notebooks. Lastly, the V300 is the ideal 23-inch all-in-one PC for entertainment, thanks to its immersive 3D display and In-Plane Switching (IPS) -enabled wide viewing angle.

“At this year’s CES, LG will showcase products that are not only new, but also establish categories defining new standards for personal computing devices,” said J.J. Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of LG Electronics IT Business Unit. “Our new products feature a range of breakthrough technologies from LG, such as IPS display, glasses-free 3D and Super Speed Boot, that will noticeably elevate the personal computing experience. These technologies reflect our goal of satisfying various consumer demands, as well as our aggressive strategy for 2012.”

■ Z330: Super Ultrabook™ that Outshines Ordinary Ultrabooks

The Z330 is the most compact product in LG’s newest Super Ultrabook™ Series, boasting vastly superior features above and beyond Intel’s Ultrabook™ requirements, while remaining attractive in both performance and portability.

In terms of performance, LG’s proprietary Super Speed Boot technology enables rapid booting, roughly three times faster than other 13-inch notebooks in the market. Powered by the second generation Intel® CoreTM i7 processor, the Z330 requires less than 10 seconds to complete booting, while it requires a mere two seconds to recover from stand-by mode.

Equally important, the Z330 is equipped with the latest SATA3 Solid State Drive (SSD) , which is more than 11 times faster than an ordinary hard drive.

The Z330 is also unrivalled in terms of compactness and portability, thanks to its Super Compact Clutch design which reduces the width of the bezel to minimal levels. In turn, the Z330 exhibits a 13.3-inch HD display on a chassis whose size is equivalent to 12-inch notebooks. The Z330 boasts uniform slimness of 14.7mm throughout, not just at its thinnest edge. The Z330 is also extremely light, weighing a mere 1.21 kg, making it lighter than most competing Ultrabooks in this class. Such attractive dimensions and weight are surrounded by a metallic cover with a gyro-brush line finish, completing the Z330’s urban, chic look.

■ Z430: Ultimate Compactness and Performance in a 14-inch Super Ultrabook™

The Z430 is a 14-inch notebook of the Super Ultrabook™ Series, which boasts powerful performance in a sleek, compact chassis. Powered by the Intel® Core i7 processor and equipped with SSD and HDD, the Z430 offers Super Speed Boot with 12 seconds booting time and arge storage capacity of up to 500GB. Such powerful features are packed into a superbly thin 19.9 mm thin chassis. The Z430 is the most compact 14-inch notebook available in the market, as its slim bezel enables the notebook to employ a 14-inch display panel in a chassis ordinarily used for 13-inch notebooks. The 1.50 kg Super Ultrabook’s design is completed by its modern, chic exterior that combines a metallic cover with a gyro-brush line finish.

T-Mobile USA, Inc. and Nokia today announced the upcoming availability of the Nokia Lumia 710, the firstWindows Phone from Nokia in the United States. Targeted at the nearly 150 million Americans who haven’t purchased their first smartphones, the Nokia Lumia 710, capable of running on T-Mobile’s 4G network, delivers high-performance hardware, Nokia’s best social and Internet experience, and access to popular smartphone applications and services from Windows Phone Marketplace.

Running on America’s Largest 4G Network™, the Nokia Lumia 710 benefits from the unique people-first approach of Windows Phone, bringing together all interactions with family and friends in People Hub. The Nokia Lumia 710 also provides one-click access to popular services, such as Netflix, T-Mobile TV and a leading mobile Web experience with Internet Explorer® Mobile, Bing™ Search with voice activation and Local Scout for locally relevant search results. The smartphone also brings access to signature Nokia experiences, such as Nokia Drive for voice-guided, turn-by-turn navigation and ESPN for exclusive sports content.

“We’re excited to team with Nokia in bringing its first Windows Phone to the U.S. with the elegantly designed Nokia Lumia 710,” said Cole Brodman, chief marketing officer, T-Mobile USA. “Windows Phone offers a compelling mobile OS choice for people who want a smartphone built around them, their family and friends. We expect it to play a more prominent role in our lineup and marketing efforts in 2012.”

Today, people are increasingly upgrading to smartphones, and many are doing so for the first time. According to the NPD Group, U.S. smartphone sales reached 59 percent in the third quarter 2011, an increase of 13 percent since third quarter 2010. With an increasing demand for smartphones, the Nokia Lumia 710 offers a compelling experience aimed at addressing the needs of the nearly 150 million people in the U.S. who have yet to upgrade to their first smartphones.

“Our research shows nearly everybody in the U.S. wants a smartphone, but many believe they can’t afford it,” Brodman said. “That’s where T-Mobile shines. Our Unlimited Value and Monthly4G plans make it more affordable than ever to step up to mobile data on our 4G network.”

”The Nokia Lumia 710 is the perfect first-time smartphone: a well-designed product that delivers the most compelling Windows Phone experience in its price range and with access to great content and thousands of applications,” said Chris Weber, president, Nokia Americas. “This is the perfect first Nokia Lumia experience and the start of our re-entry into the U.S. smartphone market.”

Available in a black or white finish, the Nokia Lumia 710 features a 3.7-inch ClearBlack WVGA scratch-resistant display for outstanding outdoor viewing and a Qualcomm 1.4 GHz Snapdragon™ processor providing speedy access to entertainment and information on-the-go. It also features a 5-megapixel camera with Nokia’s leading camera technology, enabling people to take pictures in almost any light condition and share on social networks in seconds. With the most integrated work-life solution of any mobile platform via the Windows Phone Office Hub and an interactive mobile gaming experience via Xbox LIVE®, the Nokia Lumia 710 is the complete all-round first-time smartphone experience.

Availability

The Nokia Lumia 710 is expected to be available at T-Mobile retail stores, select dealers and retailers nationwide, and online at http://www.t-mobile.com starting Jan. 11. The Nokia Lumia 710 is expected to cost $49.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate card, with a two-year service agreement and qualifying Classic voice and data plan.
Opening content on the BlackBerry PlayBook – BlackBerry Bridge allows you to take documents, emails, multimedia files and web pages found on your smartphone and open them quickly and directly on the BlackBerry PlayBook so you can use the larger high resolution display for an optimized viewing and editing experience.

Improved Mobile Productivity:

Updated document editing capabilities – updated Documents To Go® functionality makes it easier for users to create and edit documents while on the go. Improvements include: enhanced support for the virtual keyboard, the ability to view and update embedded charts and chart sheets within spreadsheets, a new formula wizard with over 100 functions as well as the ability to edit presentations including text, bullets and formatting.

Print To Go application – this app allows users to wirelessly “print” from their laptop or PC directly to their BlackBerry PlayBook over Wi-Fi®. A digital printout is created on the BlackBerry PlayBook so that users can view, sort and manage their digital printouts as though they were physical sheets of paper. The Print To Go app is the perfect way to consolidate info from various related sources like a hotel web confirmation, an airline boarding pass email, the show event schedule or even a map of the destination city and make them available for quick access on the go.

Increased control and manageability of corporate data – the combination of BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 with BlackBerry Mobile Fusion and BlackBerry Balance will help to overcome many barriers to widespread tablet deployment, including device manageability and the ability to secure, manage and control confidential corporate information on the device. Plus BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 supports dedicated shelf space inside the BlackBerry® App World™ storefront to allow IT departments to control distribution of enterprise applications and to make those approved enterprise applications easily available to the organization’s end users.
