ACER announced the world’s thinnest ultrabook, the Aspire S5 is a 13.3-incher that ways under three pounds, offering up Instant On functionality, a magnesium-aluminum alloy cover (in Onyx Black), HDMI / USB 3.0 / Thunderbolt (!) ports and an SSD.  It should ship in Q2 in 2012. other than that nothing else.

Ok enough with the false marketing approach of leaving new tech in public places for some so called unexpected individual to find and leak info out.

Based on previous information about the handset, we already know it’ll be Motorola’ssecond Droid, and will be exclusive to Verizon. It’ll have an 8MP camera (capable of shooting 720p video), a 4.3-inch screen, and will no doubt be running Android Froyo when it’s released June/July.

The gym employee who found the device (as the story goes) managed to confirm a few details with the chap who picked it up—specifically, that it has 16GB of internal storage, runs on a Snapdragon processor, has a HDMI port, and yes, the 8MP camera and 4.3-inch screen all checked out too.

At CES 2010 we had the opportunity to sit down with Mike Krell  of Alereon, who gave us a demo of their upcoming Nowire Wireless HDMI Extender. I must say the device works seamlessly. The driverless systems allows for a very fluid setup. 720p video playback is a breeze and looks wonderful supporting resolution up to 1680 by 1050. The extender has a range of 30 feet at speeds up to 220 Mbps via ultra wideband wireless technology leaves the WiFi radio in the PC free to connect to the internet at full speed to stream video files from web sites such as Hulu, Netflix and YouTube. Also reading text on the screen  looks crystal clear.

The device is small an compact, with two parts. A USB dongle for laptop attachment and a small module called a shark fin for TV connection, with HDMI connection, VGA , audio out. One thing I really like about the system is once connected, there is no need to make screen adjustment on your TV, as is with other wireless pc extenders. your laptop image fit perfectly on the screen on first go.

The demo also includes wireless storage solution for the system that showed the versatility of the Nowire system. I can’t wait to get my hands on the Alereon Nowire wireless HDMI pc Extender, it will fit perfectly in my idea home entertainment setup.

We take the device through its pace in this review, testing out its distance functioanlity as as well video and audio quality. I admit we did have some technical issues during the review with he sound quality processed by the device. We contacted Atlona , who assured us were working to resolve the audio issues.
