The Motorola Droid XYBOARD 8.2 is the sequel to the ill launched Motorola Xoom, and the first Motorola Tablet to take the Droid name. This tablet packs the regular features you will find in an standard Android 3.2 tablet. it sports a 1.2Ghz dual-core processor, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, a 5 megapixel rear camera with LED flash 7 a mini HDMI-out. It also sports a high definition IPS display. the XYBAORD 8.2 is a 4G LTE device and is capable of creating a hot sport for up to 8 devices.

The Droid XYBOARD is a very slim device, taking design cues from the Droid Razr, it is sleek and slim, with corner edges matching the Razr . there are no buttons on the front of the device, with the the power and Vol. toggle are at the back of the XYBOARD 8.2. The XYBOARD  8.2 is splash resistant, to protect from water damage, its has also got a soft rubberized coating around the edge of the device. The HTC Rezound is the first HTC device to sport a720p display and will be the First device on Verizon Network to have a HD display. Its got a 4.3-inch 720p Super LCD display (yes a HD screen). Powered by a 1.5 Dual-core Processor. It camera has an F2.2 lens with low light sensor at 8 Megapixels. recording at 1080p and a VGA Front Facing Camera for video chat. Storage; its got 32GB (with 16GB microSD and 16GB on-board storage). Its got Sense 3.5 and the U.I experience so far seem looks and feels fast. The HTC Rezound is also a 4G LTE device on the Verizon network and doe sallow user to create a Hotspot for up to 8 devices.

The HTC Rezound is also the first US smartphone to sport Beats audio by Dr Dre; which is know for its premium studio audio. So what does it add to the device, in terms of audio? Short answer is Yes. But I can tell you first hand that the audio quality off the Rezound is impressive, with or without the Beats by Dr Dre headphones provided  with the Rezound,  The sound quality is clean clear and without distortion. Now we know every smartphone out there has a built in music player, but that doesn’t guarantee it sounds good or you would love to listen to your favorite tunes on the devices. I can tell you that is just not the case with the Rezound. Music is vivid and fresh, movies feel like your right in the thick of things in the middle of all the action. In short the addition of Beats by Dr Dre add and extra entertainment dimension to the HTC Rezound.

So we know listen to audio on the device is great, how about the new Super LCD 720p HD display. Yes this is actually the first device on Verizon network to sport a 720p HD display, before the Galaxy Nexus. I can tell you the screen has its ups and does., it shines well with movies, especially watch a movies that is bright and has fewer dark scenes; with photos you really don’t notice the difference. Though the 8 Megapixel camera with its F2.2 lens takes some very and I mean very Stella photos and I mean stellar.

Battery life is an area where HTC has improved a lot with the Rezound, I got upwards of 16hrs with heavy use and about 24 hrs + on standby. Which is huge improvement from some other HTC device that barely last 8 hours. As you know this is also a 4G LTE device on the Verizon network, clocking speeds of up to 25Mbps downloads and 8Mbps uploads. Over the  HTC REzound has some flaws, with an ok HD display and poor audio the on HD recording(serious HTC please fix this).

On the flip side, listen to music and watch movies on this device is and audio dream with clean crisp sound and the battery life is also great. So in all though flawed, the HTC Rezound provides and audio experience second to non-in the smartphone space.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket was the 4G LTE Galaxy S2 device in the US, on the AT&T. It also house an 1850maH battery, which does add much wait to the device liek other 4G LTE smartphone.

Design wise it is similar to the Galaxy S2  Epic 4G touch on Sprint in size and general aesthetic. Though I will say the Skyrocket as a very surreal smoothness to it. From the back surface to the screen it self. Just Plain Smooth. We shall see how it handles in our full review.

The LG Nitro HD announced a week ago is the first 4G LTE device on AT&T to sport a 720p HD display. The Nitro HD sports a 4.5-inch “true” HD 1280 x 720 IPS display, powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm APQ8060 processor, its got a total of 20GB of storage and houses a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash that records at 1080p. Mind you the front facing camera can record a 720p too.

Design wise the LG Nitro HD deviates from the standard hard cornered LG devices like the LG Revolution. Its got rounded edges,  with a mesh back for a solid grip. The device is also light, as we have come to expect, 4G LTE devices tend to be bulky and have some weight to them; which is not the case with the LG Nitro HD. There are some design choices LG has added to the Nitro HD that differentiates it from other Android devices. Its only got 3 touch sensitive button with the search button available via long press n the menu button. Overall the hardware feels good, light and comfortable with a sturdy feel overall.

Software

The Nitro HD runs Android 2.3.5 with LG UX overlay, there are benefits and disadvantages to it. Some of the disadvantage are occasional slow downs while switching between apps; even though the device house a dual –core processor you will notice some slow downs. On the up side there upsides to the software. its got a clean and easy to use camera app, smartshare is a great software piece from LG that allows you to connect to your network and stream or transfer content. Wi-Fi share is another software that allow you to create a wireless hotspot and share content within devices. You also have the added feature of been able to resize widgets on the home screen and the ability to take Screen shots on the device by holding down Power + Home at the same time.

720p IPS HD Display

The main distinctive feature of the LG Nitro HD is its 720p display, which brings high definition from your big screen to the palm of your hands. It is hard to appreciate the quality of the display, by looking at screenshots or even viewing directly on the. The best way to enjoy the display is to view a movie on the screen. It looks gorgeous, just check out the video review about.

4G LTE

AT&T is new to the 4G LTE game, but it is making a lot of noise with devices like the Nitro, so far I have been getting some really ridiculous speeds of the device, upwards of 48Mbps at some point. though those super high-speeds could be due to the limited amount of AT&T customer have 4G LTE devices.

1080p Camera Test

The LG Nitro HD has an 8 megapixel camera that records at 1080p. I can tell you from use the camera does a great job at record both audio and video. The audio quality is clear and video is crisp with out the constant shakiness you get from most Smartphone cameras. The 720p display makes for great viewing of video even while recording. i terms of taking pictures, this camera does a fantastic job of creating clean clear and crisp photos.

Conclusion

The LG Nitro HD is an interesting device, it sports a lovely display that adds a visual experience that has never been achieved. it is great for watching video, got a great camera and takes great stills. There are some issues to mention; like the battery life for the device is not great. You will be getting 8-10hrs with the device and also some slow downs while switching apps. Taking all that to account the LG Nitro HD does over a great deal to warrant a purchase, both with its 720P display and software addition with smartshare, wifi share and more. The LG Nitro HD isn’t perfect but it sure is a great device to own.

The Droid Razr by Motorola is  the thinnest smartphone on the market, it also bears the name of the best selling cellphone ever made, the”Motorola Razr”. The Droid Razr is design to be sleek, ultra thin, edgy and Powerful. It sport a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED qHD display that is coated with Gorilla glass. Powered by a dual-core processor and running Android 2.3.5 with 1GB of ram for some smooth operations. The Droid Razr is splash repellent (you can spill, water, coffee, soda on your device and not have to work about it dying). Does not have a removable battery, since the back of the device is covered with Kevlar to make it more durable. The is a side bay to install a microSD card and 4G LTE sim. Yes the device is also 4G LTE capable and does provide the ability to create a hotspot. So How does the device fair? first of its is ultra light and at 4.3-inches the size isn’t a factor and first feel in your hands. The the angular design of the Droid Razr makes the device feel sharp in your hands. On the inside the OS feels and runs as smooth as butter. The 1GB of ram helps a long way in providing a smooth user experience with the general OS feel and when using software like Motocast.

MotoCast is a piece of software, Motorola spent some time during their unveiling of the Droid Razr showing. It always you to connect to you home computer via 4G LTE or Wi-Fi any where in the world. Question is does it work? Yes and it is any easy setup process. Connect your Droid Razr to your PC you will be promoted to install the software. once that is done follow the on screen prompts and you are good to go. So say you travel from home(NYC) to San Francisco for a business trip. you forgot some files or want to stream your own movies. All you simply have to do is  open up your phone go to your file manager app, click on MotoCast computer and connect to your computer way back in NYC and you  are good to go. It does a fantastic job streaming media over 4G.

Speaking of 4G the Droid Razr is exclusive to Verizon Wireless which means it runs off the company’s 4G LTE network, which clocks some blazing speeds that match and surpasses home network speeds.  You can also use the Droid Razr as a wireless Hotspot for up to 8 devices with 4G LTE access for all the devices.  The Razr also does well on battery life for an Android device, clock  about 12 – 14 hrs. for a power user and close to 36 hrs. on standby.

The Droid Razr is a well crafted device by Motorola, probably their best device in the last 2 years. its sleek, sexy, and most of all it works well. I can’t stress that enough about the Droid Razr. Though it hit the market prior to the release of ice Cream Sandwich. The Droid Razr will be getting Android 4.0 and you can better it will continue to be Awesome phone

Today HTC announced the long rumored HTC Rezound aka HTC Vigor. The device comes with Beats audio built-in. Specs- wise the device is built with the best of the best tech.  Its got a 4.5-inch 720p display ( yes a HD screen). Powered by a 1.5 Dual-core Processor ( probably Qualcomm).  It camera has an F2.2 lens with low light sensor at 8 Megapixels. recording at 1080p. Storage; its got 32GB (with 16GB microSD and 16GB on-board storage).  It got Sense 3.5 on the HTC Rezound.  Comes with a pair of Beat audio in-ear headphone out of the Box.  The  HTC Rezound will be avaialble on Nov 14th through all retail outlet and will cost $299.99 with 2yr Contract

LTE Deployments

AT&T continues to expand its 4G LTE footprint. The four markets launching Nov. 6 join Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio, which were launched in September. AT&T is the only U.S. carrier providing 4G service using both HSPA+ and LTE. HSPA+, when combined with enhanced backhaul, provides customers with 4G speeds, meaning customers get a faster and more consistent 4G experience, even when outside of an AT&T LTE area. Customers of other carriers that have transitioned to 4G LTE without further speed upgrades to their existing networks are likely to see a jarring drop-off in speeds when they move out of LTE coverage.

Finally it seems Motorola has come to their senses and released what should have been the Motorola Droid 3, as the Droid 4. Though this looks like ultra thin resembles the Droid Razr. The Droid 4 also has 4G,finally, but it doesn’t have a removable battery. This device looks and feels more like a Razr Slide than a Droid 4. But we shall see. No word on pricing and release date.

The Samsung Stratosphere is a mid-Range  and first 4G LTE phone to have a full slide out QWERTY keyboard and micro-sim on the Verizon Network.  We got a quick hands-on of the devices at CTIA Fall 2011 in San Diego.
