We had heard word about this during CES but need some more confirmation, but its looks like the whispers are true, the Nokia Lumia 900 which is a top tier handset is coming to AT&T on March 18th for just $99.99; which BGR is now reporting  Nokia and AT&T are going for some very aggressive pricing here. The Nokia Lumia 900 will the second Nokia Windows phone in the US and the company’s first 4G LTE device. The Lumia 900 is a 4.3-inch AMOLED Clear black display device. it is power by a 1.5Ghz Processor with 512MB of ram. its got a rear camera with an f2.2 aperture and a front-facing camera with a f2.4 aperture for some great videos and video chats. March 18th can’t come any soon, for AT&T customers.

A two headed baby (conjoined twin) where born yesterday in Brazil. What makes these baby (Emanoel and Jesus.) special is that they have two heads and to spines but one heart. Yikes!! basically the share the same organs other than head and spine. These will definitely pose an issues for the twins as the grow older. Doctors in Brazil are still unsure what to do. For now the kids are in good health and doing well

A Brazilian woman has given birth to a two-headed baby boy and doctors say the newborn appears to be in good health. Maria de Nazare has decided to name the pair, who share a heart, lungs, liver and pelvis, Emanoel and Jesus.

“When doctors scanned her they realized that the baby had two heads and that a normal birth would be a great risk both for mother and baby,” hospital director Claudionor Assis de Vasconcelos told Brazil’s O Povo newspaper. “The caesarean took an hour because the baby was sitting down.”

“Despite all the problems we have as a small interior hospital we managed to save both mother and baby, which was our aim,” he said. “And for us it was a great surprise to find out that the child was in really good health.”

De Nazare was expecting twins and only found out about the two-headed child minutes before doctors advised her to have a caesarean birth in order to save both her life and that of her baby. Along with two heads, the 9.9 pound newborns have separate spines.

In some two-headed births where one brain is less developed, one head is removed in order to save the child’s life. But rarer cases like this one, where there are two functioning brains, complicates the decision making process for doctors.

AT&T just put of an official press statement that it has given up on plans to purchase T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile’s German parent company.  The acquisition had come under heavy criticism and scrutiny from the government and FCC. AT&T Ends Bid To Add Network Capacity Through T-Mobile USA Purchase

Company Reaffirms Its Commitment to Mobile Broadband Leadership

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) said today that after a thorough review of options it has agreed with Deutsche Telekom AG to end its bid to acquire T-Mobile USA, which began in March of this year.
The actions by the Federal Communications Commission and the Department of Justice to block this transaction do not change the realities of the U.S. wireless industry. It is one of the most fiercely competitive industries in the world, with a mounting need for more spectrum that has not diminished and must be addressed immediately. The AT&T and T-Mobile USA combination would have offered an interim solution to this spectrum shortage. In the absence of such steps, customers will be harmed and needed investment will be stifled.

“AT&T will continue to be aggressive in leading the mobile Internet revolution,” said Randall Stephenson, AT&T chairman and CEO. “Over the past four years we have invested more in our networks than any other U.S. company. As a result, today we deliver best-in-class mobile broadband speeds – connecting smartphones, tablets and emerging devices at a record pace – and we are well under way with our nationwide 4G LTE deployment.

“To meet the needs of our customers, we will continue to invest,” Stephenson said. “However, adding capacity to meet these needs will require policymakers to do two things. First, in the near term, they should allow the free markets to work so that additional spectrum is available to meet the immediate needs of the U.S. wireless industry, including expeditiously approving our acquisition of unused Qualcomm spectrum currently pending before the FCC. Second, policymakers should enact legislation to meet our nation’s longer-term spectrum needs.
“The mobile Internet is a dynamic industry that can be a critical driver in restoring American economic growth and job creation, but only if companies are allowed to react quickly to customer needs and market forces,” Stephenson said.

To reflect the break-up considerations due Deutsche Telekom, AT&T will recognize a pretax accounting charge of $4 billion in the 4th quarter of 2011. Additionally, AT&T will enter a mutually beneficial roaming agreement with Deutsche Telekom.

Vanessa Bryant filed legal docs Friday afternoon, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Sources connected with the couple tell TMZ … Vanessa — who stuck by Kobe after he was charged with sexually assaulting a Colorado woman in 2003 — decided to end the marriage because she believes Kobe has been unfaithful … again.
As one source puts it, “She’s been dealing with these incidents for a long time and has been a faithful wife, but she’s finally had enough,” adding, “This one is the straw that broke the camel’s back.”
And our sources say … Kobe “desperately” wants to win Vanessa back and will do “whatever it takes” to save their 10 1/2 year marriage.
According to the legal docs, Vanessa is asking for joint custody of their 2 daughters — 8-year-old Natalia and 5-year-old Giana — but Vanessa is asking that Kobe get visitation rights, which means she wants the kids in her care most of the time.
We’ve learned the couple has NO PRENUP, so 29-year-old Vanessa is entitled to half of the empire Kobe built over the last decade.

Glad to see Nokia is starting its US push of Windows Phone devices and as a T-Mobile customer I am glad its on my personal carrier. That been said, the event takes place on Dec 14th and you can bet we will be there to cover all proceedings from the show. from 7pm. We presume it is the Nokia   Lumia 710 which recently pass FCC under T-mobile’s AWS frequency. But let hope the Nokia Lumia 800 and something else is included in the mix. The will be a DJ on hand-on so I presume this  will be a Launch party event of some sort. So stay tuned and we will keep you covered.

Hong Kong Housewife Awarded $150 million in divorce settlement

A Hong Kong judge ordered a wealthy real estate mogul to pay his former wife $154 million in one of the city’s largest divorce settlements.

The divorce award translates to HK $1.2 billion and dwarfs famous settlements in other countries.

In comparison, Paul McCartney was ordered to pay Heather Mills almost $50 million three years ago.

Court documents released Thursday detailed a breakdown of the ruling.

It includes a home in the city worth HK $250 million, a London residence valued at HK $30.5 million and HK $2.5 million to buy two cars.

Conrad Murray was sentenced Tuesday to four years behind bars in the death of Michael Jackson.

Murray was convicted three weeks ago after a trial in which prosecutors successfully argued that Murray’s reckless use of the surgical anesthetic propofol to help Jackson sleep, without proper monitoring equipment, led to the singer’s death.

Testimony during the trial revealed that Murray gave propofol nearly every night in the two months before the singer’s death on June 25, 2009, as Jackson prepared for his comeback concerts set for London the next month.

Prosecutors asked for the maximum four years behind bars, and for Murray to pay Jackson’s children more than $100 million in restitution. Defense lawyers requested probation.

In a sentencing memo filed with the judge last week, prosecutors said Murray has “displayed a complete lack of remorse” about Jackson’s death, and is, “even worse, failing to accept even the slightest level of responsibility.”

Happy Thanksgiving, while this doesn’t mean the proposed deal is dead. but it looks like the proposed merger is on its death bed. What a great way to start Thanks giving. Which also means AT&T has to cough up $4 billion to T-Mobile as part of their merger agreement if the deal goes belly up.

Deutsche Telekom and AT&T withdrew their application for approval by the Federal Communications Commission of a planned $39 billion deal for T-Mobile USA to focus on obtaining the green light from the Department of Justice.

At the same time, AT&T said on Thursday it expected to book a pretax $4 billion charge in this quarter for potential break-up fees, should the deal collapse.

“This formal step today is being undertaken by both companies to consolidate their strength and to focus their continuing efforts on obtaining antitrust clearance for the transaction from the Department of Justice,” the companies said in a statement.

They added that they are continuing to pursue the sale of T-Mobile USA to AT&T.

The withdrawal follows after the Federal Communications Commission said earlier this week it planned to send the deal to an administrative law judge for review.
