T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 Review

IMAG0527 The Galaxy S2 has arrived to take the crown, as the best in the stable. in all respects it is similar to its other us variants but at the heart of this device beats a dual –core 1.5Ghz Qualcomm processor and not Samsung’s 1.2Ghz dual-core Exynos Processor. An 8 megapixel camera with LED flash in the rear that records video at 1080p, a 2 megapixel camera in front for video chat via Qik video over its massive 4.52 inch Super AMOLED Plus Display.  Which provides you with a enough retail space to watch and stream movies from Samsung’s media hub. Using T-mobile’s expanded 42Mbps HSPA+ network (depending on location of course)The T-Mobile is similarity design to it Sprint counter part the Epic 4G Touch with some subtle differences; the chrome trimming around the edges of the T-mobile , and its full back cover piece. Also the T-mobile Version is light than the Epic 4G touch.

Running Android 2.3.5 the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 also sport TouchWiz 4.0 custom overlay. Which I still consider the best Android skin in the market today, with smooth OS functionality, great camera app. Quick scroll feature for easy home screen and app navigation, the combined folder feature which T-Mobile uses to aggregate some pre-loaded apps, as well as the ability to resize live widgets. One thing that is missing is the ability to video call off Google Talk with the device, as it seems that feature is disabled in favor of Qik which is pre-installed on the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2

The Camera

I won’t talk much about the camera other than the plain fact it’s the same camera found in both the Epic 4G Touch and the AT&T Samsung galaxy S2. which simply means its, good and does a good job at 1080p recording and taking photos. You can also check out our full 1080p camera test of the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 here

Conclusion

The T-Mobile Samsung galaxy S2 is a true Galaxy S device despite the processor change. Though that has brought about a few changes that might but some negatives on the device mainly in the battery life department. The drains faster than other Samsung Galaxy S2 devices, almost feels like a HTC device on battery life. Granted the Power control options do help. But I didn’t have to do that on the AT&T and Sprint versions of the Samsung Galaxy S2.

There is still a lot of good and great things about the T-Mobile Samsung galaxy S2. Its runs Android 2.3.5 smoothly and TouchWiz 4.0 shines well on the system. Plus T-Mobile 42Mbps second network does pull its own weight with data speeds of up to 20Mbps in my selected area. In all the T-Mobile Samsung galaxy S2, may suffer in the battery department. It doe shine in the rest and can firmly be called a True Galaxy S2 device and the Best Smartphone on the T-Mobile Network.

I agree, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is definitely going to take the crown as the best phone available. I really love the Super AMOLED Plus screen, this phone is obviously meant for watching movies and steaming other online content. Why else would there be a dual core processor powering this bad boy? I cannot wait to pair this phone with the Sling adapter that I recently got while working at DISH. Now I can stream all my live channels and my DVR content to all my Android devices everywhere I have 3G coverage or Wi-Fi. I am actually surprised that there aren’t more Android users that have a Sling, especially since it is compatible with all Android devices and most Apple devices. Plus, DISH is offering free Sling adapters to all customers, so why not?
